DoCoMo announced that as of March 18, 2012, the number of subscribers to its LTE (Long Term Evolution) service Xi topped two million, according to a March 24, 2012 report by Japan Today. Launched on December 24, 2010, subscriber base of the Xi service reached one million on December 25, 2011, and the company's first Xi-compatible Smartphone was introduced in November 2011. DoCoMo said that the company will continue to roll out Xi-compatible Smartphones, tablet PCs, data communication devices, and mobile Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) routers.
